I randomly noticed this brand new eatery while walking Leto yesterday, so today we decided to drop by for lunch. Greenpoint Kitchen is located on a corner property at the intersection of Greenpoint Ave and 48th Ave.
There is not too much room inside, due to the odd shape, but there are a few tables and plenty of room to sit for about a dozen people. They seem to cater mostly to take-out and delivery though. Even when dining it, the dishes and utensils are all plastic or paper take-out ones. As an opening promotion, they offer free coffee (which actually tasted good!) with almost any purchase.
The menu is breakfast-oriented (although there are some dinner items!) and contains many egg-based dishes. This is the Mexican omelet ($5.75), containing jalapenos, onions, and tomatoes. It comes with buttered toast, as well as home fries. It’s not quite as delicious as from dedicated brunch places, but for the price, it’s well worth it, and filling.
All of the omelets can also be purchased for the same price ($5.75) in wrap form, as you can see in this Tex-Mex wrap. It contains avocado, jalapeno, peppers, onions, and cheese. The wrap itself was good, but the potatoes that came with it were not crispy enough.
